i'm in N.C. i was hired to do a roof job for a man from N.J. he sent me 1/2 of total job price as agreed. i spent part of the money on traveling and materials for job. job has not been done due to weather, holiday and a family emergency. the home owner is threatening legal action. there was no deadline set for job.what action can he take against me? I do not want to do job but don't have whole amount to return

Answer

You have to either finish the job or refund the money. Otherwise he can sue you for the money he paid...or get it done by someone else and sue you if that person charged more.
