My ex boyfriend of 8 years have recently seperated for the reason being that he had an affair, we have 2 kids together and he is not currently helping me with any support, even though he sees the kids. just a few months before the seperation, we traded my car to get him a new car, and his old car was given to me. both cars are under his name, but i pay for insurance every month, maintanence on the car and now that registration is due, im will be paying for that. i have asked him to put my name on the registration, but doesn't want to do so until i sign a legal document stating that he will have my kids 50/50. now my question is, being that the car was given to me, but is under his name, do i have any rights to the car, and how do i go about getting mine name on the registration since he doesnt want to add me?
