Do dents pop back out of cars in summer heat?

Do dents pop back out of cars in summer heat?
If the dent is not too bad, such as a hail dent, we were told to have the vehicle in the sun and put an ice cube on the dent & it should pop out. Hold it on with a glove if it slides.
