I am the mother of a disabled child i was told i had to apply for guardianship of my child before he turns 18 how does one go about applying for guardianship of a not competent child/adult?

This can be done either before or after he turns 18. You must file a petition with the Court to become Guardian. You will need proof of his disability. The Court may require a medical exam. Good luck.
