My mother lives in an apartment complex. As her mother was in the home on hospice care during the blizzard several people suffered carbon monoxide poisoning. The Hospice nurse and my aunt lost consciousness. 2 others suffered gastric distress. The source of the CO was likely a generator a friend set up outside the front door. She lives in Port Jefferson Long Island NY. Does the landlord have a legal responsibility to provide CO detectors for their residents?
