Who was a better actor - Laurence Olivier or Peter O'Tool?

Who was a better actor - Laurence Olivier or Peter O'Tool?
It depends on who you ask. Art is one of the more subjective things in this vast world of ours, but there always is one particular rule of measurement to be taken in any genre of the arts, and for acting that would be the Oscars. If we're going by Oscar nominations and wins regarding who the better actor between the two are, the scoring would go like this:

Laurence Olivier was nominated for Best Actor/Best Supporting Actor a total of 10 times, but only won once for Hamlet in 1948.

Peter O'Tool was nominated seven times for a Best Actor Oscar, never winning, but was given an honorary Motion Picture Arts and Sciences awarded Oscar in 2003 as he "provided cinema history with some of its most memorable characters", in their words.
