I recently left my ex, My truck title was in his name and he had a lien on it with the bank cause he still owed money ... when I left him I was under the understanding that he paid it off cause he signed the truck over to me as a gift and I got a clean title from the dmv... now i find out there is still money owed on the truck. But I have a clean title do I have to pay what he owes? Can they take my truck although I have a clean title in my name.. I am a single mother of 3 girls I cannot lose my transportation.. What can I do

How do you know there is still money owed on the truck? Is it a personal loan he took or a bank or car loan? Do you have the latest DMV records indicating a lien on the truck?
