I have a friend who is going to get sen to a place for 60 days for having two open containers in his truck. He is trying to save his life and I am trying to help him from going to jail for something he is already stopping doing. What can we do to get a judge to lower the states sentence and help show them he has changed he is going to AA meetings already.

If he's been sentenced already you can get an attorney to file a motion to reconsider the sentence. Then your friend and his attorney can "show them he has changed going to AA meetings."
