Question

I rent an apartment in South Florida. There are trees overhanging the parking lot and has caused my car damage - tree soot on the hood and mold/mildew on my roof. The car wash professionals told me in order to remove all the mildew it would cost around $100. Is my landlord responsible for this damage? I'd like them to cover the bill.

Answer

Unless your lease provides for this type of damage, then likely they are not. You park at your own risk. You may want to ask for another spot.
