I had items stored in a storage unit that came up missing. I do not know if they were stolen or auctioned off. When i opened my account with the facility it was not owned by current owners. But when i noticed my items were missing it was owned by the current owners. I want to know who should I file the civil suit against.

Whatever responsibility the owners may have (if any) under your current rental agreement would most likely lie with the current rather than the former owners.
