I am appealing a misdemeanor criminal conviction and my appeals attorney filed a wende brief so I can file my own supplemental document but my attorney is 27 and this one of his first cases so he gave me zero guidance. Are guidelines and references I should be aware of such as maximum length including all the exhibits and format etc? Thanks!

An appellate brief is no easy thing. But I would suggest you look at a book entitled "Appeals and Writs in Criminal Cases". It is put out by CEB and it is available to the public at your county law library.

There are plenty of things you are required 'to be aware of'. And, no amount of free 'tips and hints' from here or elsewhere are going to effectively help in your appeal. If you don't know how to effectively represent yourself in an appeal, and effectively prepare all the pleadings required, you should hire counsel to do so. Otherwise, park yourself in the local law library and begin studying appellate practice guidebooks like an attorney has done.
