Question

I have raised my granddaughter for the last thirteen years and I have leagal gardianship of her. now her father is taking me to court for custody. The problem is, that I'm not her biological grandmother. Is there a chance I could lose her because of this.

Answer

There is a chance, but unlikely. The Court will do what is "in the best interest of the child". The fact that the child has been with your for 13 years will carry a great deal of weight.
