Can I get my Money Back?

I was going to buy a truck from a man in my town. I agreed to pay $1400 in payments. He stated he would place the truck in storage until it was paid off. After paying $500, the truck was still int the street. It was also being driven by the mans son to move his things, and was being driven by other people. I tried to get in contact with the guy but he moved. I just recently found out he's back in town. Can I get my $500 back or not?

Do you have any written agreement? Is the truck any less valuable because it was used a few times? If you do not have a written agreement it will be very difficult to prove the existence of a contract.
